Wind Turbines

I think these huge wind turbines are beautiful – powerful and graceful.

I did the oil paintings after I returned to England from a  painting holiday with Emily Ball in the Algarve.  The A4 sketches were done in Portugal, standing on a windy ridge, the Atlantic behind me, clutching charcoal, pencils, rags and other bits and pieces in a large yoguart pot.

I’ve never been interested in painting landscapes and it was only after I finished the first couple of these that I realised that that’s what I’ve painted!
